Established in 1968 and now in its second generation, internationally acclaimed Rudolf Heltzel designers gold and silversmiths hand make unique, exquisite jewellery in precious metals and gemstones. Their gallery at 10 Patrick Street, open to the public, displays and sells an exciting range of instantly recognisable, hand made engagement rings and dress pieces in 18ct gold, sterling silver and platinum, set with carefully selected diamonds and magnificent precious gemstones.

Each piece at Rudolf Heltzel, including every engagement ring, is designed in-house and individually made entirely by hand using the oldest jewellery making techniques. All precious metals are recycled using ethical "Urban Mining".

Qualifications / Background

Rudolf Heltzel was originally brought over to Ireland by Córas Tráchtála/The Irish Export Board to set up the Jewellery and Metals Workshop for the newly created Kilkenny Design Workshops, where he also trained many Irish jewellers. His jewellery has been shown in exhibitions and galleries in Japan, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the U.K., Denmark, Sweden and the U.S.A. Besides designing and making his own sculptural jewellery, Rudolf Heltzel created designs for international fashion companies, lectured at Belfast University, was instrumental in settting up the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland's Jewellery Skills Training Course, and been consultant and adviser to jewellery manufacturing companies in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Pakistan
