The Abhainn Rí Festival is an annual community festival for Callan and its rural hinterland. Aiming to celebrate the many riches in local heritage and interest, it brings together people interested in sport and food, heritage and music, theatre, arts and family fun, and whatever you might be interested in yourself! Participation is a strong thread of Abhainn Rí which features 4-day creative workshops for young and old that all contribute to the Finale on the last day, after the John Locke's Juvenile Hurling Tournament.
