• Bike Week - 19th to 23rd June (THIS WEEK) - From free bike checks, fun cycles, lunchtime city rides, heritage cycles, electric bike races, school cycling events ,road races and much more.There’s something for every age and ability. Bike Week is the opportunity for people to get back on the saddle – for commuting or for recreation or just for the sheer joy of it!

• Windgap Gathering - Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd June (THIS WEEKEND) - part of Gathering Kilkenny. Featuring concert by Kilkenny Gospel Choir, Art Exhibition, Vintage Car Display, Ballroom Dancing, Street Stalls, Historical Walks and much more.

• IDEATE Festival - 5th & 6th July - IDEATE is a multi-disciplinary mini-festival event about making. It explores and celebrates craft, design and creativity through experimentation and collaboration. Imagining the future potential for craft, design and the creative process through shared practice, new technologies and a fusion of music, making, experimentation, talks, random happenings and exploration.

• Abhainn Rí Festival - 28th July to 4th August - is an annual community festival for Callan and its rural hinterland. Aiming to celebrate the many riches in local heritage and interest, it brings together people interested in sport and food, heritage and music, theatre, arts and family fun, and whatever you might be interested in yourself!

• Kilkenny Arts Festival - 9th to 18th August - Festival features the following art forms; Theatre & Dance, Classical Music, Music, Wired, Street, Literature, Visual Art and Craft. Underpinning the presentation of events is the commitment to bring work to Kilkenny that would not be seen outside the festival context, and a desire to commission and produce new work from Ireland and abroad.

• Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band - Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th July - Nowlan Park - The Boss comes to Kilkenny for the final two dates on the bands European tour in support of their 2012 album "Wrecking Ball". Support at the Saturday show is from Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey. Support at the Sunday show is from Imelda May and LAPD (featuring Liam O’Flynn, Andy Irvine, Paddy Glackin & Dónal Lunny). In Kilkenny there is a Music and Singing Performance at RehabCare Resource Centre at Regent House all day. CCE Mullinavat play the Rising Sun from 6pm to 8pm. Residents from St Columbas Hospital are putting a session from 3pm - 4pm at the hospital,  lovelivemusic.ie

• KCAT Station - Friday 21st June - KCAT Art and Study Centre at Mill Lane in Callan - part of Gathering Kilkenny. A day of artistic sharing as part of the Arts Council Cultural Presidency programme showcasing inclusive arts organisations that have made a big commitment over the years to creating a common European cultural space. KCAT will invite 80 artists of our European Partners and artists from Irish Studio groups to work collaboratively on a mural installation, kcat.ie

• Simone Felice - Saturday 22nd June - Cleere's Theatre, Parliment St - 9.30pm, €20 - Simone Felice is a celebrated songwriter, author, and poet. His most recent album was 2012's "Simone Felice". • Juliet Turner - Saturday 22nd June - Hole In The Wall, High St - 8.30pm, €22 - Northern Irish singer/songwriter Juliet Turner has some hints of the old standbys in her folk-inflected music: Nick Drake, Carole King, even a bit of Kirsty MacColl in her vocals. However, Turner’s blend of melodic and lyrical folk, pop, and electronics also sits nicely next to contemporaries like Beth Orton and Emiliana Torrini,  kilkennytourism.ie

• Last Rose of Summer Bicentenary Celebration Concert - Saturday 22nd June - Jenkinstown Park - 8pm, €22.50 - A concert to commemorate the bicentenary of the publication of Thomas Moore's "The Last Rose of Summer", which was one of his best-known works. Thomas Moore, Ireland's National Poet (or Bard of Ireland), composed "The Last Rose of Summer" when visiting his good friend, George "Punch" Bryan in Jenkinstown and it is fitting that the concert will be held within the original walled garden area of the Jenkintown woodlands. Anthony Kearns, an internationally renowned Irish tenor, will perform, along with his usual repertoire, some Thomas Moore Melodies. Nicola Brennan and some excellent young talent will also perform, kilkennytourism.ie

• Donovan - Saturday 22nd June - Set Theatre, John St - 8pm, €22 - The legendary folk-rockpop troubadour Donovan began his career as an itinerant folk musician, creating acoustic hits in 1965 with the gentle Catch The Wind and Colours and his version of Buffy Sainte Marie’s protest anthem Universal Soldier before transforming the pop music landscape with a series of enigmatic and wondrous pop masterpieces that continue to be played on radio and television, kilkennytourism.ie

• Family Fun Day - Sunday 23rd June - Ballykeeffe Ampitheatre - 2pm to 6pm, Adults: €3, Kids: Free - A display of armour and other utensils from Irish History Live lays the grounds for this year’s Medieval Theme. Children (and adults too!) are allowed to hold swords and dress up as knights as in times long gone by. • 5k Family Fun Run/Jog/Walk - Saturday 22nd June - 12pm - Kilkenny Swimming Club host a Family 5k Fun Run / Jog / Walk at Kilkenny Castle Park.  All are welcome. Kilkenny Swimming Club has been in operation in its present format since 1980. Over the past 30 years, they have provided swimming lessons to thousands of children from Kilkenny,  kilkennytourism.ie
